MBC’14 – Eye Benders & Paper Tricks
In 2014 my concept for this agenda/invitation was graphic eye benders.
The cover starts with an MBC (Marshall Bennett Classic) typographic lenticular.
This spread is a typographic pop-up of the letter A.
This page is a typographic optical illusion of the letters M B C.
Blur your eyes a little and they pop out in trippy ways.
This spread is an optical illusion of the letters R S V P.
If you’re viewing on a mobile device, pinch and zoom and the letters fade away.
This spread is an optical illusion of the number 23 (one of the rsvp dates).
If you’re viewing on a mobile device, pinch and zoom and the number fades away.
The further your eyes are from the graphic, the more legible.
This spread is an optical illusion of the number 24 (one of the rsvp dates). Just stare at it.
This spread is an optical illusion, interpretation of Chicagos grid system.
Stare at the black dots and they will vibrate to white.
No tricks on this spread, it just looks cool however, when you enter the Waldorf Astoria Chicago,
you’ll find yourself standing on a marble floor with this beautiful pattern on it; I love it!
This spread creates and completes a W by using reflective paper.
This spread is an optical illusion, interpretation of the circular amusement rides at Navy Pier.
This eye bender works easier if you’re staring at the printed page of the book but, you should be
able to see it on your phone or tablet. Stare at the center dot and the outer rings should start to rotate. Moving the image close to your face and back may help, same thing with pinch and zoom. Play around.
